Offering perfect mixes of style and comfort, Abbyson Living presents unique and luxurious products for the bedroom, dining room, living room, home theater and office. These exquisite collections feature versatile pieces that can become the highlight of any home. However, it is important to always remember that when you put fine furniture into your home or office, you need to give it the care it deserves. Regular attention and maintenance of fine furniture can ensure its beauty for years to come.
FURNITURE PRODUCT CARE
It is important to keep the home or office in which your furniture is placed properly humidified. Wood prefers a reasonable level of temperature and humidity (around 72 degrees with 40 percent humidity). Wood should not sit near heating or air conditioning registers. These remove necessary moisture from your furniture and dry it out, causing additional cracks or splits.
Wood is a natural product. Sun bleaching will occur when wood furniture is exposed to sunlight. This will cause darker finishes to lighten and sometimes cause lighter finishes to darken. For this reason, try to avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight and rearrange accessories from time to time to prevent spot bleaching.
PROTECT AGAINST SPILLS & STAINS
Spills should be blotted immediately rather than rubbed or wiped. Time is of the essence when dealing with spills and stains on wooden furniture. For food type spills, use a cloth or sponge which has been dampened in mild, soapy water (no chemicals). Articles such as glasses, hot cups and dishes should have coasters or felt type pads on them. Beware of some felt pads that have a pre‐glued side as some of these adhesives contain chemicals that can damage the wood finish. Always remember to lift objects rather than sliding them across the finish.
LEATHER & UPHOLSTERY CARE
It is important to remember that due to its genuine features, leather has natural wrinkles as well as color and texture variations. Leather surfaces on beds, sofas or chairs should be dusted regularly with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth ‐ avoid using chemical cleaners. Also, and most importantly, remember to never rub a stain on leather or fabric. Always dab it out with a slightly damp cloth.
Suede surfaces should only be cleaned with a dry, stiff brush. Exposure to liquid spills should be avoided since suede cannot be washed or cleaned as easy as leather. Frequent vacuuming or light brushing is recommended in regards to fabric and upholstery items. Cushions and pillows should be turned on a weekly basis. Down‐filled cushions should be brushed rather than vacuumed. Spot clean, using a mild water‐free solvent or dry cleaning product. The use of steam or water‐based cleaners may cause excessive shrinking or staining.
Abbyson Living has dedicated itself to creating a new and beautiful lifestyle by providing comfortable and affordable luxurious leather furniture. A great deal of our leather is hand-cut and hand-stuffed, handled with great care by our extraordinary skilled craftsmen. Due to its natural substances the way the leather breathes and feels against your skin is priceless and its comfort only increases with age. Abbyson Living uses four main types of fine, high quality Top grain leather:
- Full Aniline: Leather which is a natural-looking, soft and beautiful Full Aniline Leather tends to be used very often. It is one of the finest leather available and is always made from finest quality, full top-grain hides, meaning that nothing has been mechanically altered.
- Semi-Aniline: Leather which is high quality and high-value leather that is very durable, soft and beautiful. It is slightly more uniform in color and texture then Full Aniline with fewer noticeable range marks
- Pigmented Leather: Pigmented Leather is a high quality leather which is the least likely to stain or fade. It has a faux embossed pattern and a sanded surface giving the leather a uniform and consistent texture. This leather tends to be a popular choice for families with young children or pets as it is of high quality, very durable with minimal maintenance.
Please note that no two pieces of Abbyson Living leather are the same; they all have different textures, heredities and backgrounds.
There are three main textures of leather that we use: scratches, wrinkles and healed scars.
Scratches When the texture is smooth to touch with slight variation of color to the surrounding area of the dye.
Wrinkles When there are natural folds highlighting unique grain patterns and one-of-a-kind upholstered furniture is created.
Healed Scars Involves barbed-wire scratches and deeper rubs creating an organic surface and a distinctively authentic leather character. These marks do not affect durability of the hide.
CARING FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL ABBYSON LIVING LEATHER

Tips on how to preserve the looks of your furniture. Furniture in daily use is exposed to various strains caused by external factors, for example body oils, perspiration, general wear and tear and color transfer from jeans.
- Keep your leather looking fresh and moisturized using conditioners/wipes every few months.
- Avoid leather cleaners which use harmful chemical products.
- Leather is a natural product and any stress will result in tears.
- Leather has limited elasticity. This means that when stretched, it does not completely return to its original shape. Therefore, when leather furniture is used more or less intensively, the leather may become looser over time.
- Leather like any other natural material can fade when exposed to direct sunlight over a long period of time. To minimize fading, avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight.
- Leather is not resistant to animals. Allowing pets on your leather furniture is not recommended. Their claws may scratch the leather which can lead to an expensive repair. Their saliva is acidic and may also harm the leather finish.
- Evade stubborn stains & protect your leather by avoiding household chemicals such as detergents, window cleaners, bleach and finger nail polish, nail polish remover, glue, shoe polish, paint, and other corrosive materials. Do not use any traditional household products to remove stubborn stains. Many of these are harsh and cannot be guaranteed safe for use on leather. Do not use a steamer to clean the leather.
- To avoid build-up of these products, please clean regularly as described.
- All leathers last longer and perform better when preventive maintenance is practiced.
- Maintain surface appearance and texture by gently wiping your leather once a week with a clean dry cloth or vacuum with a soft brush. This will remove dust and build-up.
- Please avoid any leaning, sitting or reaching over the back of the sofa.
- If pillow cushions are sewn to the frame, any pulling or tugging might result in a tear.
- To keep your cushions looking fluff and new avoid sitting in one area and use the seating areas evenly.
